Mexborough Civic Gig Review

Lets make no bones about it - Mexborough Civic is a fantastic venue. Big stage, square room, no pillars, decent PA, a bar at the end and .... a really cosey band/changing room.

Kev the owner and his good lady have invested a great deal of time and energy into the place out of shear love for live music - the scene needs more people like this.

Sound was pretty good, the room induces a fair amount of natural reverb and the stage is essentially one big bass bin, but Fish, Garry and Steve on sound handled it with aplomb and the on stage mix was the best we've had for some time.

More to follow ....

Hudds Gasworks bar gig review

Wahey!

That was LOOOOOOOOUUUUUD!

Let's here it for the sound engineer who worked hard for both bands and did a sterling job.

So the other band on tonight were [sub]Nova from Sheffield. Now, I was born in Sheffield so I may be a little biased but whenever we meet a band from steel city they turn out to be really cool guys. No exception tonight and their set was awesome -please check them out. If it wasn't for the state of my poor ears I'd have loved them to play for another hour!
Good luck for the future guys!

So, after an excellent opening act we had couldn't just go through the motions ( no that we ever do) and I think we pulled it out of the bag. It was pretty loud on stage but despite numerous fluffs we sounded pretty tight.
Sally tied to get some pix, which I post here if they turn out.
So newly buoyed by the new material going down well and the three piece really starting to gel we are really looking forward to Mexborough!

Rock on!

Hudds Gig Bill

Joining us on the bill tonight with be [sub]Nova from Sheffield.

Check out their myspace site here

They are in the vein of Soundgarden, Audioslave, Stone Temple Pilots etc - which is no bad thing at all.

As a special treat for you all, and to be fair, any one with an internet connection .... We have published three tracks from the new album 'Ordinary Day' onto our myspace page.

The tracks are:
  1. My Wicked Other Self
  2. Don't Let Go
  3. Ordinary day
Not only can you listen to them and read the lyrics, but you can also download them free of charge! They are only 128kb MP3s so not the best quality in the world - you'll need to buy the CD for that!

Enjoy!

We will probably rotate the available tracks over the next fews weeks so you should be able to collect the whole album.
